In today's live session of @fortelabs' Building a Second Brain, we focused on the knowledge capturing process.

To do creative work, we need a strategic and consistent capture process. Write from abundance.

Below a thread with my takeaways. Here my notes:

1/ Gain clarity in your knowledge capturing process by filling in the Capture Quadrant:

- Why capture?
- What to capture?
- Where to capture?
- How to capture?
2/ WHY capture?

To solve your 12 favorite problems!

When you read, you encounter solutions to problems. When you know what problems you want to solve, you know what solutions to capture and curate.

Look at each solution you encounter and ask yourself what problem it solves.
3/ WHAT to capture?

Anything that resonates with you from the sources that work best out for you.

Ask yourself: "What are the five sources that are most impactful for me?" Choose 20% of sources that let you capture 80% of useful content.
4/ WHERE to capture?

Your second brain; your note-taking and note-organization tool.

Have a fixed place where you capture all of your notes. Connect highlighting and annotation tools to your second brain, so everything comes together in one place. Then, process your notes.
5/ HOW to capture?

Any way you like, as long as everything ends up in your second brain.

Make the capture process as easy as possible: read in Kindle and Instapaper, use Hypothes.is, sync everything with Readwise.

Use shortcuts on your pc & mobile to capture fast.
6/ Don't know where to start? Here are 30 ideas of things to save for creative inspiration.
