அப்படி crude oil விலையை நிர்ணயம் செய்ய சில bench markers உண்டு. அதில் மூன்று முக்கிய bench marking
1.Brent crude ( crude taken from Northen sea - Brent, Forties, Oseberg, and Ekofisk)
2.WTI - Crude taken from oil wells in US
3.OPEC Basket - Crude taken from middle east

மத்த crude லாம் கூட இந்த மூணுல எதாவது ஒரு விலைய தான் follow பண்ணும். இந்தியா இந்த Brend bench marking crude தான் primary ஆ வாங்குது... And 2/3 of the world follows Brent crude bench marking.

முன்னலாம் crude spot market முறையில் விற்கப்பட்டது... அதாவது அன்னிக்கு என்ன விலையோ அத குடுத்து வாங்கணும்... அது 1 மாசம் கழிச்சி deliver ஆகும்... 1970 க்கு பிறகு அது futures க்கு மாறுச்சு... அதாவது இப்பவே ஜூன் மாசத்துக்கு இந்த விலைக்கு வாங்குவேன்னு contract போட்டுக்கறது
June contract expire ஆகும் போது அந்த விலைக்கு crude deliver ஆகும். This is to minimize risk and do proper forecast. எத்தனை மாசத்துக்கு முன்னாடி வேணா இப்பவே contract போட்டுக்கலாம்... For example இப்பவே கூட Nov contract வாங்கிக்கலாம்... நேற்றைய பிரச்சனை May contract ல வந்துச்சு
அதாவது இதுக்கு முன்னயே ஒரு விலைல may contract வாங்கனவங்க. அது இன்று expire ஆகுது. Which means they need to take the delivery of crude for the quantity and price as per contract. ஆனா demand சுத்தமா இல்லாததனால பழைய stock அப்படியே இருக்கு...
Delivery எடுத்தா அத store பண்ணி வைக்க இடமில்லை + demand ம் இல்லை. So May contract வாங்கனவங்களாம் அத விக்க ட்ரை பண்ணாங்க... அத வாங்கவும் ஆளில்லை... அதனால may contract rate went to negative.

வேற ஒரு டிவிட்ல சொன்னது இங்க திரும்பவும் சொல்லிடறேன்... நேத்து நடந்த வீழ்ச்சி WTI crude ல. Brent crude அதே 25 $ விலைல தான் இருக்கு. நாம Brent crude pricing follow பண்றதால நமக்கு எந்த லாபமும் இல்ல. அப்படியே இருந்தாலும் விலை குறையாது என்பது வேற விஷயம் 😉
இதுல ஒரு correction. இந்தியா முழுவதா Brent crude bench mark follow பண்ணலயாம். We have our own Indian Basket which is a weighted average of Brent Crude and Dubai/Omen crude at the ratio of 75.50 - 24.50
