In Composite, Ascendant is how the couple appears to the public. It can also be descriptive of how they met, the conditions such as where? How? Etc
It is common to have Stelliums in a house with Composite, to insist on the theme of that house.
10th: usually found with business partnerships, a couple with purpose/goal, very public relationship etc
6th: house of service, sense of inequality/inferiority between the partners; feeling like relationships is labour.
12th: deals with either unacknowledged behaviors/feelings -
As with any chart, easy aspects such as trine, conjunction (depends) & sextile mean easy flow of energy and harmony while hard aspects (square, opposition, conjunction, inconjunction)= conflict, hardship
* this also means (usually) ability to separate rational thought from emotions so a hard aspect can mean misunderstandings, one takes what the other says to heart, gets easily offended/hurt by their words..
