The history of exclusion in the UK is fascinating, horrific and scarcely known to most people. I mention a few examples of the outrageous theft of our rights, some of which continue to this day.
We have a long-standing myth in the UK that the countryside is a place of innocence and freedom. But in some ways it is far more exclusive and cruel than the cities, and has been for centuries.
