Attorneys for former BARDA director Dr. Rick Bright, who accused the Trump administration of "placing politics and cronyism ahead of science" by pushing chloroquines, say they will file a whistleblower complaint with the Office of Special Counsel and HHS soon.

Their statement.
HHS spokeswoman Caitlin Oakley claimed last night that it was Dr. Bright who requested an emergency use authorization from the FDA for donations of chloroquine that Bayer and Sandoz recently made to the Strategic National Stockpile for use on COVID-19 patients.

Her statement:
The latest statement on behalf of Dr. Bright says the administration is making "demonstrably false" claims about him.

He says Trump admin demanded NY and NJ be "flooded" with hydroxychloroquine as an unproven "panacea."

Joining a telephone press conference now announcing this complaint:

Bright himself is on the call, as are his attorneys Debra Katz and Lisa Banks.

Nick Schwellenbach, a senior investigator at the Project On Government Oversight, is also on the call.
"Dr. Bright's removal from BARDA was retaliation, pure and simple," Katz says.

INBOX: Michael Cohen’s attorney says the former Trump fixer remains in prison under quarantine without explanation, despite his promised release date yesterday, May 1.
Context: This appears to be a trend in the Bureau of Prisons in the age of Covid-19, making those granted release remain in prison for a “14-day quarantine”—that is neither a quarantine nor limited to 14 days.

One judge called it “Kafkaesque.”

The same morning that JAMA Internal Medical published a study linking him to public health dangers of his earlier tweets, Musk tweeted this.
Musk’s confidence in his Covid-19 pronouncements does not appear to have been shaken by the spectacular failure of this prediction in mid-March.
