Two things on which discussion died w/ very little fanfare:

1) Those drive-thru testing sites in Walmart parking lots that were supposed to be operational by the Monday after they were announced (~6-7 weeks ago?).

2) The Google+Apple contact tracing app.

Did I miss something?
P.S. I genuinely am not trying to be snarky or political. It's just mind-boggling... that whole notion, with explicit buy-in from all those corporate folks standing up there, sounded relatively concrete and imminent. Did it really just entirely evaporate? Or it never was real?
P.P.S. Oops, forgot that Twitter takes all questions literally. I'm getting replies with links to all sorts of unrelated takes that I have apparently missed. To be clear, I meant did I miss something specifically regarding these two topics? 😂

Several folks have asked for an update or "response" in the last few weeks, most not nearly as civilly as this. We all need and deserve kindness and rational discourse in these trying times. In thread below: some thoughts on why we haven't (yet) hit a nationwide healthcare crush.
To reiterate, I am neither an epi modeler nor an "influencer" and have never claimed or tried to be. On March 6, I had a few hundred followers. I wrote this thread because I was tired of texting the same thing over and over to friends and family to explain why I was concerned.
This has been an especially hard week on top of a hard few months. I'll be disconnected for the weekend but I genuinely wish you all health, safety, and comfort. We are all in this together whether we like it or not.

Consumer insights from Datassentials on how consumers feel about the safety of their meat amidst Covid-19, and my thoughts on whether these sentiments are merited. [short thread]
Asked whether slaughterhouse workers with Covid-19 made them nervous about meat safety, >60% of consumers said yes, though about half of those would continue eating it.

But nearly 50% of GenZ & 40% of millennials are eating less meat for this reason.

However, this is the wrong framing for asking this food safety question.

The food safety risk to a consumer isn't likely to result from the slaughterhouse worker being ill. It's likely because of this: theguardian.com/environment/20…
