The scourge of science is that these agenda-driven experts can concoct any wild prediction they want with wide ranges to use as partisan propaganda against politicians who dare defy “science!” and when they’re wrong, they never have to apologize, let alone retire:

A slight chance when facts start to emerge in a few months—the pseudoscience of social distancing, the primitive practice of quarantining healthy people, the missed opportunity for herd immunity, etc—the politicized scientific community will have burned its credibility for good.
