The lockdown, like many medicines, contains one or more active ingredients. And these may differ in efficacy by patient community. Imitating merely the outward aspects of a lockdown is a form of cargo cultism, if used without understanding.
Alas public policy is often about theater and symbolism. Airport security theater and perhaps lockdown theater. Something caused by the lockdown may be the active ingredient and the challenge is to focus on those and not succumb to imitating mere forms.
