@cjblain10 Yes and No.

Arguably, her limited life experience has not equipped her with the same skills that a seasoned pol/business owner/manager might have. She hasn't worked much with others. She hasn't built coalitions. She hasn't done much retail politicking (earning popular consent).
@cjblain10 The tendency to overreach with edicts is partly a reflection of this lack of experience, IMO. Mayor Turner, in contrast, has been more careful, and less inclined to go along with some of the further-reaching edicts, because he has more experience with popular consent and control.
@cjblain10 I disagree with him on plenty, as you know, but I think the differences in experience do manifest as I've described. He simply has more experience building relationships and crafting policies the public will support, and it shows.
@cjblain10 That's not to say a twentysomething can't manage, or do some things well and bring some fresh (needed) perspective to government. But there are also drawbacks. There's a reason you don't find that many twentysomething CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, right?
@cjblain10 That said, there are plenty of "experienced" fools as well.

So yeah, maybe "age" isn't the perfect metric, but I do think it tells us something about life experiences and skillsets.

To your point, though, it's imperfect - probably better to discuss those things in detail.
@cjblain10 But did voters actually understand they were electing a twentysomething with such limited skills and experiences?

If you're a consultant and your answer is "I don't think so" then doesn't that have to be part of your campaign?
@cjblain10 That's a legit question from me to you (because I don't run campaigns and don't know that craft well -- but I vote and I study politics, and I don't think that framing is crazy or useless).
