Born Isabella Baumfree, Sojourner Truth was an abolitionist and women's rights activist. She is best known for her speech on racial inequalities, "Ain't I a Woman?" delivered at the Ohio Women's Rights Convention in 1851.

She was the FIRST Black woman to sue a white man in a United States court and prevail. She regained custody of her son, Peter.
