Oh no I am bad at debate
Debate club must have seemed a good idea to well-meaning teachers but mostly it taught assholes that being right about something is just a principle-free competition.
The fact that Ben Shapiro, a person with extremely stupid beliefs, is apparently good at debate should tell you all you need to know about how overrated debate actually is for the purpose of uncovering truth.

The notion that 60,000 dead is tragic is a partisan notion now.
To agree that 60,000 deaths are tragic is to wonder why it happened.

To wonder why it happened is to know why.

To know why is to blame the parties responsible.

And for millions the parties responsible are their Gods.
When your God kills somebody, you make a story. The story is about how the death happened for the best, or how the dead deserved to die.

We're watching millions of Americans decide which story to tell.

Sometimes they tell both at once.

Imagine if these people ever faced actual oppression.
Imagine they didn't clearly know that police brutality is something reserved for other people.
Imagine instead they lived with an innate sense, delivered to them at a young age, that in most places they would be assumed a threat, where their very presence, however benign, might draw immediate lethal response.

Imagine they didn't think of the world as their possession.

This is exactly the sort of self-serving quid pro quo for which he was impeached when he did it with a foreign government through back-channels. Now he’s doing it to the states on TV, using a global pandemic as leverage.

They must impeach him.
Remember when after Hurricane Sandy President Obama refused to send emergency assistance to New Jersey until Gov Christie did him a favor, remember that.
They have to impeach whether there are votes or not, because if they don’t impeach then none of these offenses are impeachable.

They should never have stopped impeaching him the last two years. It’s to their great shame they only did it once.
