This is what their “freedom” looks like. State representatives cowering beneath armed “activists.” Now imagine if these activists were Black. Would never have made it in, or at the least would never have been allowed to congregate above the reps in this way.
And for pppl who are weary of the “what if they were Black,” discussion you shouldn’t be. Because on our watch armed white ppl are being granted a form of super citizenship. It is a direct effort to elevate the rights in the 2nd Amendment over those guaranteed in the 14th.
These kinds of displays and threats - and worse - were critical to the end of Reconstruction and tumbled Black ppl into the nadir.
And for those who are thinking “well Black people should just exercise their gun rights and do the same,” that’s been tried.
