Glenn Greenwald stuck by Assange and - in a little-known bit - publicly defended Max Hardcore, a porn star who raped women on camera. A LOT of people, on every side of this, are showing their asses in regard to how they view rape accusations as purely instrumental right now. 
That’s to say nothing of the people adopting rape-culture lines to defend Biden or spinning out conspiracy theories about Reade. Lots and lots of people believe women as long as it doesn’t interfere with getting what they want. It’s gross.
There are people from a certain sector of progressive media who view Reade’s allegations primarily as a means to damage Biden, and have coached her or witnesses about who to speak with & what to say. I wish they could see they’re doing her no favors by making this look partisan.
There is reason to treat this allegation with caution because it stands to impact an election, and I can see why journalists were slow and careful with it, but the correlation is there now. It’s a serious allegation that deserves more than to be treated as a political football.
