I disagree with much of what Dr Zafarul Islam Khan said in his statement but why the witch-hunt? Let him express his views and let others criticise!

The govt is obsessed with sedition and Freud would have had a field day explaining why members of BJP are behaving in this manner!

Zafarul-Islam Khan Sahib has the right to express what he wants whether you agree with him or not. He had himself apologised for not being sensitive about both the timing and content of the post but this witch hunt is ridiculous.

I have gone through the post and I must say that I disagree with much of it but I still defend his right to express his opinion. Firstly I don’t think the Arabs really care what happens to South Asian Muslims in the first place.

We live in an era of nation states and the only concern of nation states is self preservation and that’s why nation states can never be moral entities. Their self interest and only that is the true measure of all their actions.

Also with the oil price collapse and economic recession the outrage would be a good way to justify cutting salaries and sending migrant workers back. Secondly amongst the names that Dr Sahib listed are some people who in my opinion are divisive and cause animosity amongst Muslims

I am certainly not concerned, let alone proud, that they might be respected in other parts of the world.

Indian Muslims must realise that this fight is ours and ours alone. Our true allies are all the other communities that are targeted for their beliefs and for their identity.

Of course it goes without saying this witch-hunt is happening because the government is more interested in curating spectacles and dividing society and throttling any dissent as it doesn’t have any plan for fighting the pandemic.
