Those people arguing "It's important to read things you disagree with". Yes it is: but Holocaust denial isn't a legitimate opinion like, should we nationalise the railways or slash taxes. It's an evil lie which is illegal in several countries. Irving was jailed for it in Austria.
I subscribe to the Telegraph and read right-wing columnists every day because it's important to read people I disagree with. You can't learn anything from a lying book which rewrites history to suit the Nazis, written by someone imprisoned for Holocaust denial.
So all I'd say is, if you're going to be, no big deal to own a book by David Irving, and pretend to yourself this wouldn't be a front page story if it was Corbyn or another leftie, please use a different argument than "It's important to read books by people you disagree with!"
