Lots of negotiations before the Auto Meeting today
BMW, Daimler, VW ... asking for incentives to increase demand
🇩🇪 Government is asking to skip dividends in return which Big Auto is reluctant to do
Auto Industry is asking for
€4k for BEVs & Hybrids & FC
€3k for ICE & Diesel
+€1k for crapping an old polluting car
+€1k for buying a BEV 2 years after you bought a car
This goes on top of the BEV/PHEV incentive that is already in place from Bafa.
A BEV can collect incentives under certain conditions all together up to €11k
Personally, I am against it
#1 If the Auto Industry is supported you need to support other industries as well
#2 Incentives don't help to innovate and improve competitiveness
#3 This is of course Taxpayer money and Tax increases are already in discussion which lowers demand
#4 ICE will benefit most as 🇩🇪 Manufacturers have still no competitive BEVs
#5 This incentives will if approved increase carbon footprint and pollution
🤷♂️ WTF
