This story starts with the Swayamvara of Krishna's mother Devaki. Two princes, Somadatta and Vasudeva are vying for her hand. Somaddata appears himself but Vasudeva sends his friend and a Prince, Sini to win it.
And in that battle, Sini not only defeats Somadatta, he plants his foot on his chest and drags him on the battlefield with his hair.

This incident spawns a generational hatred in the families of Somadatta and Sini. Which is carried onto Kurukshetra, in Satyaki and Bhoorishravas.
On the 14th Day, When Arjuna Swears to Kill Jayadratha, Bhoorishravas is one of the Maharathis, assigned to Guard him. When Satyaki enters the Protective Vyuha to help Arjun, he comes face to face with Bhoorishravas, sparking off the Rivalry.
Now Satyaki is tired after fighting Drona while Bhoorishravas, not only is well rested, but is Skilled as well. There's only one outcome of the battle and Bhoorisravas wins by striking Satyaki Unconcious. This is where the battle should have ended
However, This is where Hatred takes over. He does the to Satyaki, what Sini did to Somadatta. He drags him across the battlefield with his hair, while Arjuna and Krishna are watching. Arjuna, knowing the family feud, stands by but then Bhoorisrava lifts his sword to kill Satyaki
Arjuna intervenes and severs Bhoorisravas hand. When Bhoorisravas protests, Arjuna points out the Adharma that was about to be committed. Bhoorisravas regrets immedietely and sits down in Penance. Now the battle, should be well and truly over.
But No, Now Satyaki wakes up and chops the head of the meditating Bhoorisravas. Whole of Kurukshetra, Even Arjuna, is aghast, at this blatant act of Adhrama, but the war continues.

However, This act catches up with Satyaki 36 years later.
When Yadavas are at Prabhasa, Kritavarma taunts Satyaki about the illegal killing of Bhurisravas. This triggers a drunken Brawl, which not only kills Satyaki, but the whole Yadava clan

Ultimately a hatred which wasn't their doing, consumed two honourable men and Countless others
Similarly, on Social media, people tend to hate each other for reasons not known to them. One person starts hating someone else and infects others with that hatred. We blame the hatred on ideological differences, political disagreements or even the choice of Mobile phones.
But the hatred is visceral. The fight goes on everyday. And even if one side gives up, the other doesn't and goes on with their hatred.

Both Satyaki and Bhurishravas could have survived, and prospered, if they had not let their Hatred takeover their lives.
Similarly, if we let hatred take over ours, we will not only consume ourselves, but many others with it.

I apologize for the same
Another Interesting Fact about Bhurishravas, there is a village in Haryana, called Bhor Saidan, which is named after him.

In the 1930s, one of the Mahants of the village temple, imported a Crocodile to the temple pond. This became the Crocodile Breeding Centre in Kurukshetra
