Few days back, a farmer @SuKannaiyan posted on twitter about his inability to sell his produce. Being an Agri tech entrepreneur, I was worried and wanted to see how we can help
After establishing initial contact, I learnt that a famous politician MP from Bengaluru has taken the produce. I assumed it was over but told @SuKannaiyan sir to contact if he needs anything.
A few days later he called and said the MP didn’t buy all of it so much was still left

Market didn’t let much happen as buyers in my contact were not willing take more than a tonne and logistics demanded that we did a one time shipment instead of staggered shipment! So I reached out to a few who were involved in helping the needy.
My co-founder Satheesh reached out to an NGO, #ArmourForCare and they got back almost immediately that they will take 3 tonnes. Thanks to their wonderful service of giving ration to the needy and giving food to community kitchens across Chennai
We hit a bottleneck. Cabbage needed to be sent from Chamrajnagar district in Karnataka to Chennai - a distance Over 500 kms. No mini trucks were in willing to come or go and pickup! After remembering a railway friend talking about #RailSETU I found the details and called
@RailMinIndia official at #SETU hotline was amazing. Mr. Sudharshan from railsetu followed up at 11:30 PM(!) and linked me up with Mysore team, which was our first choice. When Mysore didn’t work for us he redirected me to Mr. Karthikeyan in Erode to help.
@SuKannaiyan sir took over from there like a breeze. All I had to do was wait and watch a farmer execute an order like a thorough professional master. He confirmed the transport with railways (and reconfirmed how meticulous @RailMinIndia was), harvested and shipped to Chennai
Railways didn’t stop there and just kept on being awesome. They called, they followed up and helped track the shipment till it reached the Chennai Egmore station.
Now the cabbages are well into @chennaicorp’s community kitchens and will be served for the needy tomorrow
Now there are some pumpkins we have to sell next!
