So....I made a thread of animals I hope inspire movie creatures.
(video by Alexander Semenov: bit.ly/39MwVBh)
First, let's start with jelly, but giant. And in SPACE. Maybe in an asteroid field, or swimming between the rings of Saturn.
When comb jellies eat an animal, it can live for a LONG time inside. And did I mention some species have flexible hinged teeth that can zipper shut and meat-grind prey alive?

Look, this has the potential for both super cute and super scary. Cute: change nothing, perfect. Scary: Imagine this but instead they are zombie hands emerging from the cracks of a monstrous daemon corpse. Or something. Just saying...cute/scary.
Thousands of mouths all sharing a single slender stomach as they deploy a deadly web of venomous threads while hovering like a galaxy in space. HELLO.
(I also wrote a thread explaining the animal above here)
A bootlace worm wrapped in on itself and writhing. Honestly feeling bad for the worm but listen THERE'S GOOD STUFF HERE.
This fungus really scares me. I can't fully articulate why. But a grapefruit-sized spike-studded parasitic fungus bursting form a perfectly normal tree just kinda freaks me out, man...*shivers*
This shark's skin. Let's see some next-level shark-style armor like this! Maybe a biomech?

Baby eels, but Princess Mononoke-style where it floats through the air, lazily drifting in front of the sun, casting a shimmering light on the world below (fun fact: called "caustic light")
Listen Avatar 2 artists, can we please get some shimmering muscle rainbow? I feel like Pandora would really benefit from some crystalline muscle rainbow.
Ok, I know tumbleweeds might not seem that "woah." But think about it: they're the spike-covered corpses of beings who literally spread their seed by desiccating themselves to death. There's something there y'all.
This plant. It's a perfect cognitive dissonance-inducing combination of vulgar-yet-violent-yet-somehow-still-a-plant confusing that makes for an excellent movie monster.
Rhizocephalan barnacles. The gonad-ripping all-consuming mold-like animal that will harden your body and corrode your mind. Truly, just read:

Ok, I think that's enough of me scaring myself for the night. Sweet dreams everyone!
Oh, and please share if you create a thread-inspired thing! I would love to see! 😃
