I've decided to do an update again today anyway, despite problems with state daily reporting (like New York reporting over 900 backlogged deaths all today, even though they didn't die today). Everything is skewed. It is what it is.

As of May 07, 2020:

78.77% of known positives are active cases

15.63% of known positives are reported recoveries

5.61% of known positives are reported deaths

Not all recoveries are reported. Not all infections are tested and are therefore not active cases.

As of May 07, 2020, there are:

983,099 reported active cases

195,036 reported recoveries

70,002 reported deaths

Not all recoveries are reported. Not all infections are tested and are therefore not active cases.

As of May 07, 2020, among closed cases:

73.59% are reported recoveries

26.41% are reported deaths

Not all recoveries are reported. The percentage of closed cases reported as recoveries has remained above deaths for the last 42 days. Over 5k reported recoveries today!

As of May 07, 2020, the reported death total rose 4.08% over May 06, 2020. New York reported over 900 deaths, clearing a backlog. Not all listed deaths for today were within the last 24 hours.

As of May 07, 2020, total reported tests increased by 4.09%. Total new active cases increased by 2.05%. The trend is still toward leveling for the last 33 days. The percentage of positive tests has been dropping lately. Watch this.

Not all negative results are reported.

Summary: Over 5k reported recoveries today. Backlog of deaths clearing in New York. Recoveries are still showing good growth, though not all states are reporting them. All other trends are toward slowing growth or leveling.

Stay well and stay safe.
