KEEP PRAYING. That’s what I want to say this morning. Reflecting on God’s kindness to work in a multitude of ways I’ve asked. But he brought change slowly, even imperceptibly at times, so I’d have to be reliant & persistent in prayer for months...& years...& sometimes many years.
I want you to understand something if you don’t already know: what Jesus most wants to give you is himself. I lack knowledge in many things & get a lot wrong but I’m certain of this. He wants to train you to come to him constantly so you’ll discover that He Himself is the prize.
Christ wants to bring us to a place in our walk with him where we still - & increasingly! - bring him all the petitions of our needs, aches, hopes & the deep desires of our hearts but that we can say, “Above all, Jesus, I want you and if any of this robs me of you, withhold it.”
Some of you leaders have let focused daily time with Jesus fall to the wayside so you can do all your works for the kingdom. “God knows I’m busy. I’m doing all this for Him.” Your greatest work for the kingdom will be resisting distraction in your own personal pursuit of him.
