During Journey of Jaidrath vadh, Krishna stopped & asked Arjun that horses are thirsty, Arjun created a pond of water using arrow,Krishna freed horses to drink water. At the same time Arjun repulsed an attack by fighting from ground(just like Karna was fighting before his death)

Arjun made a hut with arrows in battlefield so Krishna could treat the horses inside it.
Another imp thing on 14th day when Bhima and Karna fought four times Karna retreated thrice and even tried to kill Bhima using Shakti and Duryodhan sent help to save him. Bhima killed 7 Kauravas during that time and in fourth duel Karna cut bow of Bhima and made him weaponless.
then shot arrows at Bhima & Bhim hid himself behind dead elephant and challenged Karna for a wrestling but that didn't happen. During one of these duel Karna even shot a Shakti at Bhima to kill him. So the promise to Kunti not to kill anyone except Arjun wasn't followed properly.
More clarity on 4th duel, In the end both Karna and Bhima remembered their vows and didn't kill each other due to promises.
When Bhima was going to help Arjun as ordered by Yuddhishithira Drona tried to stop him, Bhima threw him along with his chariot 8 times.

Krishna & Arjun both knew illusion, they discussed it before reaching to Jaidrath, it was a part of the plan to bring him out in the open. Krishna created illusion and he came out in open and Arjun did the job. Both side used illusions in war, Shakuni from Kauravas side used it
