Italy & Spain have started to lift certain aspects of their lockdowns, but take a good look at the shape of their graphs compared to ours!
Their daily number of new cases is falling fast. But ours is stagnant at a high level. Their daily new deaths also fell much much further!

Why doesn't our number of new cases fall? It's a combination of a too-weak lockdown, together with pockets of coronavirus (care homes, etc.) that are still spreading like wildfire.
So it's obvious that if Italy and Spain are only just beginning to tiptoe out of lockdown, we're hardly in a position to even do that.
This shouldn't be too hard to grasp, even for politicians (ooh, pretty pictures!)

Journalists should be asking, again and again, at every single press conference, why the Government claims the UK's getting on top of the coronavirus, but the number of daily new cases NEVER FALLS.
