On a leisurely Sunday morning a thread. Something to contemplate. Slowly the western media, picking up clue from the Pakistan media, is beginning to refer to the jehadis infiltrating into J&K as members of TRF (The Resistance Front).This is subterfuge and a clever psy-ops. Why?
By referring to terrorists as TRF members, the attempt is to normalise them as freedom fighters instead of religious jehadi fighters that they are.
By subtly referring to them as members of TRF, the underlying aim is to make us forget the brutalities of Lashkar, Jaish, Hizbul, ISIS terrorists who have terrorised and killed thousands.
Getting the terminology right is therefore very essential. Don’t gloss over terrorism. Terrorists are terrorists and not freedom fighters. Period. This applies to us all: media, tweeple, commentators and even security officials. My personal take
