From 1937 the class was modified which changed the appearance shown here.

During the last years of service, the Nannies were confined to working both passenger and freight trains Main North line. Last withdrawn 1968.

In 2018 the overhaul of preserved 3526 was completed and the locomotive was unveiled at the Thirlmere Festival of Steam 2018 wearing a green livery.
