1/3 I stumbled across this fascinating perspective (see video) on today’s shift in comms strategy, esp the change from red to green colours (stop/go) and the energising, activating message of ‘stay alert’.
2/3 Whilst the perspective might be controversial, it’s interesting that my (legal) analysis (earlier thread) is that the rules are largely the same but were presented by Johnson as relaxed.
3/3 A shift in comms from ‘stay home’ (ie ‘stay put’) to ‘go [out]’ / ‘stay alert’ would support the view that the Gov now want people to act to the limits of the rules rather than adopting a precautionary approach staying well within them, which was the previous strategy.
