I've received word from multiple sources that foreigners, in particular foreign teachers, are being asked to get tested, just because Itaewon is known as the "foreigner district". Even though they don't live in/been to Itaewon, let alone live in Seoul. Spill the beans!
It seems that many foreign residents in S. Korea are afraid of coming forward for fear of losing their jobs. There seems to be so many stories (I've directly seen xenophobic emails) of schools and authorities asking foreigners to get tested... just because they are foreigners...
Foreign teachers in S. Korea: "We're being treated like lepers"
Multiple sources since yesterday have been telling me that some foreign teachers are:
- being targeted for testing solely because they are foreign
- being told their test results BY the school who knew in advance
- are being asked for bank records to prove where they were.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying people should NOT get tested, especially *both Koreans and non-Koreans* who were in Itaewon area/clubs. But based on tip-offs from dozens of teachers across the country, it would seem that some teachers are assumed guilty until proven innocent.
Three unrelated sources have told me their schools provided the test results to them who received the results before the patient, raising concerns about breaches of patient privacy, and even possible outing.

Some screenshots and documentations I've seen clearly note that because Itaewon is a place for foreigners, they "should get tested" - even though they have never been to Itaewon, let alone live in Seoul.
No one wants to say anything as they don't want to lose their contracts.

On the flip side, I've also seem documentation showing some schools/offices asking all staff to get tested, regardless of nationality. It's important to note that not all work places are carrying out these practices.
