1. In case anyone was wondering - the entire ''Sukhois scrambled to intercept Chinese choppers'' story may be a touch over-stated. Here is what I know .. and it is limited.
2. At a time of tension along the Pangong Lake in Eastern Ladakh, a flight of IAF Su-30s was operating in the region on a routine training mission.
3. They did not move to intercept or gain a solution to intercept any Chinese choppers which were operating in the region.
4. Using high performance fighter jets to engage low flying choppers masked by high mountains along contested territory is difficult if not impossible at the best of times. There was no effort to do this.
5. However, it is correct that IAF jets were in the air at broadly the same time as the tense stand-off between India and China was taking place along the Pangong Lake.
6. There is no official press release planned on this episode.
