(1/23) The official #Ethereum 2.0 deposit launchpad has just been open-sourced.
Let's have a constructive look at what's being built right now so you don't have to run the app yourself.…
(2/23) Love the Staking Rewards chart. Clear & simple.

Could be more centered on relevant APRs to appear less flat.
The link is to @ConsenSysCodefi eth2 calculator, which is great but a Google Sheet might look unprofessional.
Maybe… is better (same source)
(3/23) Nice timeline.

I understand why you would not want to risk showing date but people will still wonder why they're not here.
Why "mainnet launch" and not "Phase 0" even though we're talking about Phase 0 below?
Maybe add links to phase descriptions here.
(4/23) Great pitch.

A few words about the benefits of Proof of Stake could come in handy here.
(5/23) 3 simple illustrated steps

Generating new keys might sound scary to a normie but it's the truth.
⚠️Typo: It's 32 ETH, not 3.2 ETH
(6/23) Here are the phase descriptions!

These are good. Maybe we could add something about when ETH tokens can be transacted or withdrawn on the ETH2 chain here.
The "Phase duration" links to @ethhub_io where there is not much data in terms of duration.
(7/23) Let's start the deposit process!

Clear presentation of steps, a good overview but a link to ETH2 Phase 0 description which still points to a placeholder for the moment.
(8/23) Signing up

"The transfer of ETH from eth1 to to eth2 is one-way, and non-reversible." => Needed warning but so scary without any further information, I might just stop the process here to keep my precious $ETH !
(9/23) Responsibilities

This is still a needed message and it is unavoidable to share but penalties sound very negative and without more clarification, it sounds like I can lose my money with a simple WiFi connection dropping for a few seconds...
(10/23) Slashing

If you're mean, we confiscate some of your money. I get it.
No description of slashing behind the link yet.
(11/23) Backup Mnemonic

Same warning than for the Ethereum crowdsale.
The user SHOULD keep it safe and we could add that storing it online is not recommended.
(12/23) Signing keys

Hmm ok. Will the user know what a validator software is?
(13/23) Transfer Delay

This is where I think we will lose most users in the deposit
"Your hyper-volatile tokens will be locked for (at least) 2 years. Good luck with that."

But the deposit interface is not to blame there, it's just how the ETH2 rollout is designed.
(14/23) Long term commitment

"There’s no way for a validator to voluntarily exit" followed by "Once I exit, I can not rejoin until at least phase 1."
What does that mean? Can I exit or not? And am I not able to stake a new batch of 32 ETH during Phase 0 anyway?
(15/23) Early Adopter Risks

I guess this really drives in the message that this is risky business, nobody will be able to say they were not warned.
(16/23) Confirmation

Yes, I attest to the fact that my IQ is > 215 which barely qualifies me for running a validator.

Let's go!
(17/23) How many validators?

I'm a whale, I want to run 10,000 validators.
(18/23) Which OS?

Because I'm a whale, I can afford a Mac.
(19/23) Install developer libraries

Lol, I know how to do that but no one else in my family does. I guess they're out and need to stake through a service.
This is another big reason why centralized staking services provided by exchanges will be popular.
(20/23) Generate Deposit Keys on your terminal

Look mom! I'm a hacker now!

I understand that it would be hard to trust any sort of executable file but do you want validators that do not work in IT?
(21/23) Save the key files and validator file

And don't share the key files instead of the validator file or else...
(22/23) Keeping my keys safe

Yes, I promise I made my homework.

And I'm going to have to stop here for now because I corrupted my deposit file somehow, I need to eat and I don't have time to debug...

Conclusion: Staking as a service and @DAppNode-like tools should not worry, they still have a business case.
Hey you, the old-timer who got in 2014 Ethereum crowdsale, do you think the UX of this launchpad is greatly improved compared to 6 years ago?
