Just got my Star Wars Millennium Falcon lego set. Each day I will update this thread with pictures describing the build status. With around 7500 pieces this may take a while. Luckily I'll be getting help from my son, who I will be addressing as "kid" throughout the build!

Day 0 : Unboxing. Opening the main box reveals 4 more boxes containing 66 bags of Lego! And a very thick instruction manual with some cool trivia.

Day 1 : Building the base.

There are 1379 steps in this kit, split into 17 stages.

Day 2 : Building the legs and feet of the Millennium Falcon.

Day 3 : Building the forward compartments. And another leg.

Lots of familiar details In this stage, including the chess table, C3PO and Chewbacca. And 2 porgs.

Day 4 : Building the engine room and cargo bay. Plus Han Solo and Leia!

I also found a couple of “bugs” from stages 2 and 3 which took an hour or so to fix.

Day 4 (part 2) : Building the back of the Falcon.

I had a bit of spare time so I cracked on with the next stage 😃

Day 5 : Building the two front prongs.

Now we can finally see the outline of the ship. Spoiler - it is big!

Day 6 : Building the floors for the two front prongs.

I guess we'll build the tops of the prongs in the next step…

Day 7 : Building the floors for the rest of the ship.

This step required flipping the ship which loosened a few bricks, requiring a bit of rebuilding.

Day 8 : Building the tops of the front prongs.

Just over a week in and we’re finally over the half way mark!

Day 9 : Completed the floors for the escape pods, along with the entry ramp and lower gun turret.

Day 9 (part 2) : Got some help from my daughter to build the roofs of the escape pods.

Day 10 : Started the roof for the back of the ship.

Tomorrow it looks like I'll complete the back of the ship.

Day 11 : Finished the roof at the back of the ship.

Day 12 : Building the roof on the front part of the saucer section.

We’re heading away for the weekend so taking a couple of days break before finishing off.

Day 15 : Building the access tube for the cockpit.

Build Time: 1 hour

The last stage will include communications dish, roof gun turret and filling in some of the holes on the roof.

Day 16 : Top gun turret and finishing the roof!

Day 16 (part 2) : Finished! The final build added a Mynock plus the two different communications dishes from the original trilogy and the JJ trilogy.

Build Time: 30 mins
Power Cables chewed: 2 (bloody Mynocks)
