1/ The days and the weeks go by. And yet I can still not take care of people the way I want to and need to.

2/ I sit here in continued disbelief that you cannot do the right thing and consider how the approach and treatment of us hasn’t been your finest moment. Why do you want to destroy us and all that we do. Whatever you may believe, all I am fighting for is my patients.
3/ Why am I the baddie? Why am I being used as a political baton for an ideological mantra to end private healthcare in Ireland. I’ve said it many times- we are not the reason there are trolley crises and long public waiting lists.
4/ My only wish is to go back to work, and continue to ask you for nothing. I didn’t ask for your contract but yet you force it on me with a gun pointed to my head.
5/ And yet I still work for free for the last 6 weeks. I never came to you to ask for a job. I worked for you for 20 years, but decided to leave. I left for my own reasons. I left you without a bad word
6/ I never stood on a pedestal to criticise you. I never tried to dismantle you. I never tried to take your doctors or nurses from you.
7/ And yet you now are doing this to me. I simply wished to work in a system that allowed me to give the care to patients that they deserved. And you know this to be true.
8/ You know because many of you have been grateful that you and your loved ones have come to me and sat with me face to face, you have been happy to be able to have every one of your questions answered by me personally.
9/ You have been to be able to call my secretary with any concern or question and I will return your call that same day.
10/ You have been happy that the tests for you or your loved one have taken place quickly, the admission to hospital has been organised quickly and effortlessly, no waiting and no trolleys. So why now are you forcing the very people you came to for help to now be out of work?
11/ Why have you suggested I make my staff unemployed? And this is why a sadness comes. Faceless people who see no consequences to their actions.
12/ I am only one person, but I am privileged to care for many 1000s of people, people like your parents and loved ones. Have you thought of the fact that they are the ones now frightened and suffering
13/ I think I’m past being angry with you HSE and DOH. I’m just sad and disheartened.
