Let's buy swadeshi and be vocal about it. Only problem is that I can't seem to find a desi brand that is completely minus supply side input not videshi. Can anyone help suggest a #swadeshi name please?
And if the #Swadeshi_Self_Reliance call is only about finished products, then we can very well continue to white label.
Every country in the world will be looking for markets as their domestic demand dries up. And in this quest they'll innovate and improve their products. India has one of the biggest markets.
If India thinks that it can rather take defensive approach and, instead of focussing on making better products, just become centric on consuming its products domestically, then it is not the best way to survive the tough times.
Our focus, instead of asking people to buy swadeshi, should be to enable industries to make such swadeshi that everyone asks for it... not just in India, but globally.
It is about time Govt. reflected upon and people ask for the results of all the hoopla about Make in India, Digital India, Start Up India, and what not India if in the end India has such products that are not even acceptable to Indians.
Putting money in the hands of people isn't the only solution to get economy moving, Govt. needs to support industries by cutting red tape so that people have better products to choose as well. And that needs focus on MSME than large ones.
Mere lip service won't help. There is more that is required.
Market will respond and prefer domestically manufactured products if they are worth it.
