I have multiple examples of inconsistencies & tech problems with your online AP tests, the inequity of conditions & lack of tech support some students have at home! #APExams
Ex 1: A friend & colleague, actually an AP art teacher, told me his daughter was not able to submit her physics AP test, that the button didn’t work. She even left plenty of time at the end, with no luck.
Ex 2: What solutions do you have for one of my students who’s WiFi was so spotty at home, yes we gave her hotspot, that she plans to have her mother drive her up to a school parking lot to access their WiFi to take her AP exam while sitting in the car?
Ex: 3 One of my students taking AP European History took the whole exam and when they tried to submit, it would not accept it.
Colleges & school districts #austinisd should demand a report to see which students, by demographics, had originally signed up to take AP tests (pre-Covid) vs those who signed up to take now, at home online vs the ones who actually took it & who was able to submit successfully.
I’m a public school college counselor, I not only worry about the inability some of our students had to submit their tests, I worry about the ones who decided to get a refund bc their family needed help, or decided it wasn’t worth it bc their mental state is in constant stress.
It’s time to rethink your online testing
Plan #collegeboard & realize that it’s you, not the students, who have the problems. #EMchat
