The new series by @Tom_LSOO on Story and "reality" really hooked me this week 1/8
It became the primary illustration for the conclusion of my sermon series on 1 Peter. Here's the rough draft for Sunday . I'll also have more commentary on it on Monday's video. 2/8
The big "ahha" moment came for me during the second video where I realized that the progression deconstruction mapped both onto @holland_tom 's Dominion story and @vervaeke_john 's meaning crisis story. 3/8
The @Tom_LSOO series (I can't wait for the last episode) helped me see how Christianity gradually afforded abundant meaning and increasingly distributed it democratically transforming lives that felt random and mundane into hero's journey of purpose and triumph. 4/8
Christian eschatology gave Christians an "end point" from the diachronological middle of their lives in order to fabricate a story around them in order to inhabit. It furnished the goal to allow meaningful selection of episodes that story-creation requires. 5/8
Christ provide the hero, the Living Stone that they could emulate and become. The video (in its deconstructive effort) actually nicely lays out a narrative by which it was democratized and popularized in the West. 6/8
I was fascinated to see a similar point as @PageauJonathan had made in one of his most popular videos. 7/8
I don't know what @Tom_LSOO 's 3rd episode will reveal but I can't wait. I'd also like to here @logosmadeflesh 's take on all of this. 8/8
Shucks, I messed up the link to @PageauJonathan 's video.
