@BradMossEsq 1. Here's a thought experiment for your Brad. Suppose I am an NSA officer who supports a senior Obama official. This official begins to make large number of demasking requests in 2016. All of the names turn out to be Trump campaign officials. How do I respond?

1) Just ignore this as a coincidence & do nothing because complaining might hurt my career;
2) Encourage the official to make more of these requests to defeat Trump in the election;
3) Speak to my IG or the intel oversight committees about how NSA reporting...

I believe option is the only ethical answer. And I also may have tried to hire you and @MarkSZaidEsq because unlike the fake CIA/NSC whistleblower you guys represented, I would be a real one.

This meant it was not necessary to get a warrant to spy on @flynn in late December 2016. Croner ignores this central point of McCarthy's article.

@joelockhart @FoxNews 1. Well, Joe, if you read my op-ed you would realize that I am a former intelligence officer who knows a lot more about unmaskings than you do. I didn't write about the volume of Obama unmaskings -- I wrote about those that were unethical and political. I also didn't say . . .
@joelockhart @FoxNews 2. . . . that unmasking the names of US citizens from intel reports is always unethical or political. More unmaskings by the Trump admin -- if this is true -- doesn't prove anything and probably reflects @realDonaldTrump's policies defeating ISIS and confronting Iran . . .

North Korea, China, Russia, radical Islam, etc. @realDonaldTrump has serious policies on these threats that may have required unmaskings. @BarackObama on the other hand led from behind on the world stage and wasted intel assets to spy on his political enemies.
