Some of what I write may sound like a conspiracy theory. Till some months back, it would have seemed the same to me. No longer.
Till a few days back, haunting images of daily wage workers struggling to go home were circulating on Social Media. Now these images are changing. (1/n)

They are images of vandalism, violence and workers finally beginning to explode. This government has transgressed all levels of indecency and callousness towards the poor. The ugliness of our systems has been exposed. (2/n)

The truth is, PDS, Public Health, Public Education, all are in shambles. With growing contractualisation and dilution of labour laws in the last two decades, labour has become brutally vulnerable. The few existing, flimsy labour laws have been revoked in UP and MP. (3/n)

Social security nets for the poor don't exist.
The truth is, at one time many free market pundits saw our population as an asset. Cheap labour and massive markets- the cold, calculated terms used to describe the 'advantages' of the Indian economy. (4/n)

But now, with growing technological evolution and advances in Artificial Intelligence, this same 'cheap labour' is gradually becoming dispensable. Global Capital probably wants them dead.
They are now willing to support the worst kind of despots to somehow hold on to power (5/n)

From Modi, to Trump, to Boris Johnson to Erdogan. Since Capital can no longer provide employment to all, it can't even survive in liberal democracies. The protests against this economic barbarity could be massive. (6/n)

So, you need ruthless and bigoted leaders to suppress and divide on the basis of religion, colour, caste, race, nationality etc. Divide and rule is being played out at a global scale for the survival of Capital.

Left of Centre currents like Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn probably offered smoother, dignified options to transit from these economies to redistributive economic models. Even Congress in India offered a Universal Basic Income scheme in their manifesto. (8/n)

Capital ensured that they were all thrashed and they lost. They used the media they own & all their other arms to ensure that these leaders are destroyed and discredited. Even minor redistribution of wealth is unacceptable to the giant monster that global Capital has become (9/n)

Ambani is not even in the top 10 donors of industrialists who are donating for COVID 19 relief. That's how sick most of these global oligarchs are.

What's fascinating is that while workers are struggling to survive in this crisis, many of these corporate demons have actually increased their wealth during the lockdown! Global Capital is forcing a class war.

The transition will not be smooth. It will be ugly and anarchic. The elite asked for it. Or maybe, they wanted anarchy as an excuse for greater control, greater surveillance, greater suppression.
We may soon be facing one of the darkest phases of human history. (12/12)
