A comprehensive thread on BTS being mistreated on korean variety shows/music shows/award shows: new armys please read! 
Please keep in mind this only includes incidents where evidence of mistreatment was aired during the show, or was revealed afterwards, it does not include any possible mistreatment that happened behind the scenes or that was cut out of the official broadcasted versions
During 2013 BTS barely appeared on any shows because they came from a small company without connections. They only got their debut stage performance because another more popular idol dropped their performance leaving an opening for BTS
The music shows they went on often cut their songs short, or never aired the performances, some of these shows are now posting their performances from 2013/2014
Rookie King was an untelevised show produced by MNET, I wasn’t sure if I should include this one but something about the fact two members were forced to kiss didn’t sit right with me so I’m adding it
MAMA 2013- Not only did MAMA not award BTS rookie of the year (despite them being the best selling rookie that year, and the fact that they won it at all the other award shows) they didn’t even invite them, even though they were nominated for rookie of the year
2014 MNET Beatles Code 3D- This was BTS’ first real variety show. The host asked them about the school uniform pl*giarism accusation, and kept going with it even after Yoongi quite diplomatically answered it the first time
Weekly Idol- The first time BTS went on the show they only got half of the airtime (split with another artist) because they weren’t considered popular enough for a full one. Yoongi made a song for the hosts and they told him they didn’t like it and wouldn’t accept it

MAMA 2014- BTS were made to perform their song on the Red Carpet before the show, and only got to perform on the main stage through a collab stage (with Bl*ck B)
MAMA 2015- BTS were only allowed to perform one song, along with a short dance collab intro stage with g*t7, while a 3 month old rookie got to perform 3 songs. Keep in mind BTS’ total album sales outsold JYP (all artists) and YG (all artists) album sales that year
2016 Flower Crew- The infamous burger incident
Busan One Festival 2016- BTS was announced in the original festival lineup, and were used to advertise the event (to bring in international viewers and karmy to the event), during the day of the event (while fans were in the venue) the lineup changed and BTS were no longer on it-
(CONT) After the show ended BTS went up on stage, without cameras, proper lighting, or a clean stage, to perform for the armys who had waited for them (Since it wasn’t recorded for the event, there are only fancams of this performance)
During BST era BTS still weren’t given a proper waiting room during music shows, they had to practice and get ready in front of the bathrooms, and other idols looked down on them at this time (keep in mind WINGS was the best selling korean album this year)
Gaon Chart Awards 2017- At the beginning of BTS’ performance was a static tv with “no signal”, V*Ps later accused BTS of pl*giarising BB, BTS ended up getting dragged by the public and even BB family members got involved-
Later on Gaon clarified that they were the ones who made the intro video that it was their mistake, and BTS were not to blame for the incident. Jin missed his university graduation for this award show, BTS haven’t attended it since
2018 Award shows started creating new daesang awards in order to give them to groups that weren’t BTS, even though they didn’t have an issue with big company groups continually winning them year after year
MBC Gayo Daejejun 2018- First BTS were not given enough seats for the show and had to take turns sitting, they split BTS performance into two parts (with a 2 hour gap between) to make sure armys would watch the entire show-
(CONT) The first part lumped them in a “global superstar” section with acts like n*t and m* (who do not have near the same achievements), they also didn’t get the ending stage despite being the biggest act there, the ending stage was not based on seniority as ap*nk did not get it
2019 Naver- For years armys suspected BTS articles were being blocked from the main page, even when they had 20k+ recommendations they wouldn’t make it, while negative BTS articles stayed for a long time, or idol airport fashion with 20 likes would be on the front page-
(CONT) However during the BS scandal it was revealed Naver was preventing articles about the scandal from appearing on the front page, and was deleting comments about it. This is because they invested $44 m USD into YG, they are the second largest shareholder
During the MOTS:P album press conference a journalist asked BTS about pl*giarism accusations (which had nothing to do with the album), it was later found out that they previously worked with YG artists and had connections with the company
SBS Inkigayo- A Kmusic show, purposefully didn’t include BWL during its first eligible day, it had enough points to win (let alone be nominated), when Dispatch inquired why they did it they said “including BTS wouldn’t be fair for other artists”
News Channel YTN had a segment on the 2 main BB charts, it discussed “all time entries on BB100 by K singers” and purposely left BTS out of the graphic/discussion, (they were already the kact with the most entires at the time) to highlight Big 3 groups-
(CONT) The channel supposedly has connections to YG, and it was uncovered later that the anchor in the segment was involved in the BS scandal
MBC Gayo Daejejun 2019- Claimed BTS was going to attend, without them agreeing to it, only for BTS to end up on NYRE instead, this is believed to have caused MBC to boycott BH affiliated artists as BTS/T*T/GFR** D have not appeared on their programs since
JTBC- A reporter from JTBC broke into BH in order to find dirt on BH/BTS. They published an article stating BTS were seeking legal consul for such matters. BH debunked these claims and stated they had the footage of them breaking into the company-

2020 SMA- BTS swept every major daesang during the award season except at SMA, where for the first time since the show first aired in 1990 they split the daesang into 2, album and digital. The digital one went to t*eyeon, even though there were artists with higher digitals (bts)

Let me add on this receipt of someone admitting to treating them poorly before they grew so big, and how they would have treated them better if they knew then how massive they would get
MAMA 2017- at award shows the biggest award is presented last, at MAMA that’s the artist of the year daesang, in 2017 BTS performed last for almost 20 minutes before the final 2 daesangs were awarded, they exhausted themselves to the point they could barely stand-
(CONT) That year artist of the year (which BTS won) was awarded first, immediately after their performance, barely giving them a chance to catch their breath. This was so e*o who won album of the year would get the final big moment on stage. AROTY has been presented last since
Bf*ee 2013- In 2013 RM & Suga attended a hip-hop event in Seoul, the conversation was derailed multiple times to insult them, they were called sell-outs, told they weren’t hip hop, called girls for wearing stage makeup & overall belittled
