Uh oh. It looks like the US state of Nevada has partnered with a UAE intelligence-linked company (Group 42) on COVID19 testing. It seems that Group 42 will get access to test data from US Citizens, which they will use for an "innovative genomic study." nvc19.org/united-arab-em… 
A little background on Group 42: they were the ones behind the ToTok chat app. ToTok was banned from both the Apple Store and the Google Play Store after US intelligence sources told the New York Times that ToTok was a front for UAE intelligence. nytimes.com/2019/12/22/us/…
Also, ToTok (formerly "Group 42 IM") is linked to Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed al-Nahyan, a senior UAE intelligence official. Sheikh Tahnoon's adopted son and PR manager were both apparently directors & investors of holding companies linked to ToTok medium.com/@billmarczak/h…
Group 42 also apparently absorbed UAE defense contractor DarkMatter's "Pegasus" division (now called PAX AI). DarkMatter is under FBI investigation stemming from their hacking operation that spied on activists and journalists around the world reuters.com/investigates/s…
So how exactly did this partnership between Nevada and Group 42 come to fruition? Apparently, Nevada's Governor appointed casino magnate Jim Murren to a public-private COVID19 task force, and Murren has a relationship with the UAE that "dates back more than a decade."
Murren was fmr CEO and Chairman of MGM Resorts International. He stepped down (with a $32m exit package) to lead the COVID19 task force. Of course, MGM has extensive ties to the UAE (resorts, partnerships, joint venture on City Center Las Vegas project) lasvegassun.com/news/2020/mar/…
Some reasonable questions to ask here: what sort of privacy protections are built into the UAE-Nevada deal? In particular, what sort of access will UAE intelligence get to the medical data of US citizens? Will the DNA of Nevada residents wind up in a UAE government database?
