Surah Al-Jumu’a

Revealed when a caravan arrived in the marketplace in Madinah. They started shouting out prices etc.

The hypocrites who were listening to the prophet SAWS deliver the khutbah walked out and went to purchase items.

So Surah Al-Jumu’a was revealed detailing the etiquette of Jumu’a.

The famous verse was revealed

Allah is encouraging us to go do business (have a career) just know when you need to pause , that is, even the adhaan is called.

Walk with determination and a quickness when the adhaan is called

Surah Al-Jumu’a also deals with what we should get from reciting the Quran. We should get ilm (wisdom/academics) and tazkiya (spirituality).

If your Islamic knowledge is not impacting you on your personal rituals, akhlaq, manners, tazkiya then something is wrong with your knowledge.

This surah also mentions that no matter how far we run death will catch up with us.

The surah also mentions a group of people from the book, a group of Jews who were following the Torah but didn’t really understand and act upon it. Allah says they are like donkeys burdened with books on their back. Of what use is knowledge if it doesn’t benefit you? #YQGems
