Avoiding burnout: (thread)
In my experience, burnout happens for three reasons.

Avoid it by avoiding:
1/ The Wrong Thing

Shiny objects that take you off course.
The cost of distraction is enormous.

If you're "shiny thing" prone (been there) progress looks more like the dotted line in the below diagram than the solid line.
2/ The Wrong Way

Being stubborn: just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
When focus is stretched horizontally, the quality of your work, your reputation and your results is incredibly hard to maintain.
3/ The Wrong Reason

Chasing a result without regard for building a sustainable process. Normally money or status related.
Let's take the money example.

2x of a resource doesn't mean 2x happiness.

The process is the prize.
Burnout summarized.

Avoid:

The Wrong Thing: Shiny Object Syndrome
The Wrong Way: Stubbornness
The Wrong Reason: Stupidity
