It seems like almost every day now a new tech company announces that they will have all or a large portion of their employees work from home permanently.

I wonder what this will mean for “tech hubs” like San Francisco (or Amsterdam) — there will be less of a need to have an office in a hub. Distributed teams will be more viable for funding.
For cities/countries that want to attract talent it might become more about offering an attractive climate for the individual rather than the company.
But that talent will increasingly work for remote companies, not local companies. — How do we look at job creation when borders become irrelevant?
Another thing to consider is our social life.
WFH for me generally meant a better work-life balance and more time for friends, but it does require you to be disciplined to take time off.
A lot of people however meet new people at the office — especially expats.

Ideally I would buy a plot of land in nature, build a few houses and move there with friends. Everyone has different jobs, but all mostly remote.
