In the current situation, when traditional conservatives are openly taking the helm of the movement they always created from behind the scenes, and turning it to the ends it was really designed for,it is important to understand what they are like.

Not like Trump at all.

I have known, and sometimes still know, quite a few traditional conservatives. And many of them are good, decent, kind people. Full of honesty and integrity. And really believing in what they say.

If you just gear up to fight boogeymen, you have the wrong aim.

This is relevant.

The decent tradcon, often a woman, sincerely holds that the traditional order - when rightly implemented - is actually better for everyone. And it *especially* protects women (who are naturally delicate) and children (who are naturally innocent).

"Delicate" is not really "weak". A tradcon ideal woman can be, often must be, very strong - in her own area, which is the area of relations, including the near-sacrament of gestating and then raising children. But to keep that strength she needs protection from the rough world.

The nature of man in the tradcon view is a brute who must be constantly controlled, though ideally by himself, and civilized. Do NOT mix this up with certain modern MRAs/MGTOWs who would embrace the brute - the tradcon will despise them.

But the brute is there in every man. It is the duty of Man to protect Woman from Brute and yet Man is Brute and there is a very intricate balance there, which does include the need for women's spaces away from all men.

My guess is that tradcons are ready to make sincere peace with a form of lesbianism. They might admit that some women are so naturally delicate that it would be too much to expect them to deal with any man intimately, as they sense the brute through the best veneer.

So the tradcons, when they back the feminist-identified anti-trans activists, are not just playing conspiracy. They are sincere. They truly believe the gentle world of women is in danger from brutal invasion from men, and so needs defence.

With lesbianism (of a certain kind, without the leather and the butch/femme and all that stuff Sheila Jeffreys and her likes conveniently repudiate) conceded, abortion remains the primary apparent difference, but I think tradcons are playing the long game.

They do not see abortion as an evil choice of evil women. Rather, they see delicate women bombarded by cultural messages about the false freedom of childlessness and the burden of motherhood, and thus shepherded to the abortionist.

They see a social contagion. They see a culturally bound syndrome. They see all the same things conveniently already claimed (by alleged feminists) about trans people and especially trans adolescents.

Another thing they sincerely believe is that the sexual revolution was a men's sexual rights movement and an unmitigated disaster for women, enabled by chemical hormones of contraception. Does sound familiar, right?

So the move from "they are transing children" to the old "they are sexualizing children and removing their innocence" will be, and already is, happening smoothly. The aim is to undo the sexual revolution, bring back chastity, *protect girls* from brutal men (including teen men).

These are the things that, I would presume, @JackieDP , @Baroness_Nichol , and other mainstream traditional conservatives believed and still believe.

This is not a mask. There is no orange lecher jumping from behind it, not consciously at least.

They sincerely believe in protecting women and children.

From transgenderism and "male invasion".

From sexualization, including "gay recruitment".

From being pushed into abortion.

From the unreformed brute lurking in all men.
