MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH (Thread)

2 years ago this very month, one of my closest friends committed suicide & I still struggle with it almost daily. Do I have guilt and feel that maybe I could have done more or said the right thing? Better believe it. 1/
I did not think she would commit suicide as she had been talking about it for over a decade but never attempted it...I was blind to the signs that were in front me. 2/
I was swamped with work and "grateful" when she didn't call me back that evening (she said she would if she wasn't feeling better). I should have called first thing that morning but was "too busy" getting ready for work and planned to call her later. I never got the chance. 3/
She jumped from the top of the building we both lived in an hour later. I may not have stopped her, but I wish I had a "do over" & could try

This didn’t have to happen w the right treatment & letting ppl know they are important & take the time to listen & intervene if needed 4/4
