Covid dealt a huge psychological blow to global institutions. They proved, momentarily at least, helpless against disease. The experts marched and countermarched. They closed economies, perhaps excessively.
They proved humanly fallible. Worth something, but not trillions.

Now they have to make the case that while everyone else must downsize, if they have not gone out of business, that govt must actually expand. Not only are they essential but even more essential. Therefore we need consols, special bonds, tax increases as we never did before.
We need these bonds and taxes to save the EU, the Chinese Communist Party and Washington, else how would we survive? If the World Order agrees on one thing it's that we need more World Order.
