Today @RadioPakistan aired abusive, profanity full press conference of anti-Sindh govt press conference of Sindh opposition leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi and Haleem Adil Shaikh from 12.32 to 1 pm on all its community and Medium Wave networks. This has now become a routine now.
They would have continued their rant, had it not been the 1 pm news bulletin. This is unheard of. Last two governments of PPP and PML-N did not commit this level of high handed ness ever.
It is clear that the Baboos under the new leadership of @shiblifaraz and @AsimSBajwa are committing this unfair practice and compromising the integrity of the national broadcaster.
The national broadcasters are paid by the Pakistani taxpayers and not by the ruling # PTI and can’t be allowed to air party propaganda.
The leader of the opposition @CMShehbaz should take notice of this illegal, immoral and unconstitutional misuse of authority by the PTI govt under the new information set up. The Senate and the National Assembly committees on Information and Broadcasting should take notice.
Under the PPP govt, from 2008 to 2013, we had ensured that both the Radio Pakistan and the PTV were not used against the opposition and all critical voices too were represented on both networks.
I, as the DG of @RadioPakistan had ensured that the critical voices of the then opposition leaders like @KhawajaMAsif @KhSaad_Rafique and @SenPervaizRd were aired on the national radio and their news items too were aired in the national news.
During 2013 elections, I had personally ensured that uncensored interviews of all national leaders were aired on the national radio. Interviews of Imran Khan, Asfandyar Wali, Syed Munawar Hasan, Dr Farooq Sattar were aired. These interviews were not conducted by a radio employee.
All those interviews were conducted by @AmirMateen2 and he can tell you that he conducted them without any particular direction. He did a wonderful job with those interviews. I am still personally grateful to him for his professionalism.
PTI has committed an act of illegal, immoral and unconditional act by converting national broadcasters into a propaganda mouthpiece of the ruling party. This fascist thuggery must not be tolerated.
