1/ These are revolutionary times & nothing is going to stop it. America is experiencing a Great Reckoning. Not enough to be good if our public policies are not. Too often they've served not justice or righteousness, so much as greed and domination. We're reaping what we have sown
2/ There is a universal spiritual principle at the heart of all the great religious systems - the principle of Atonement. What happens when the heart cries out and says, “Yes, I know what I have done.” Lincoln said nations as well as individuals must atone.
3/ But Atonement itself is not enough; we must also make Amends. We're the generation that must now do both. No more pictures of Lady Liberty crying. I see Lady Liberty raising her hands in the air now and saying, “Enough is enough.” We will rise. We will atone.
4/ We will pray. We will make things right. We will work to fix it. We will make amends. We will not give up. We will not cower. We will not be seduced. We will not be duped. We will not stop until the work is done. We will kick ass. And we will recreate the world. Amen.
