Trump Org’s Turkish business partner for Trump Towers Istanbul personally lobbied **three White House cabinet members** for Turkey's business group to capitalize on the pandemic.

He then forwarded those letters to Trump.

Mehmet Ali Yalçındağ, seen here posing with Trump and Ivanka at the Trump Towers Istanbul's 2012 ribbon cutting, sent letters on behalf of Turkey's state-sponsored business group to:

* Energy Sec. Dan Brouillette
* Agriculture Sec. Sonny Perdue &
* Commerce Sec. Wilbur Ross
Yalçındağ is also chair of the Turkey-U.S. Business Council (TAIK), whose lobbyist Mercury Public Affairs had to disclose the May 20 letters to the Justice Department under FARA.

The White House and the three agencies did not immediately respond to emails requesting comment.

NEW: The Second Circuit released an opinion this morning explaining their ruling last month reinstating the New York primary.

“It may be hard to imagine a more ‘severe’ election-related restriction than the removal of ten out of eleven qualified candidates from the ballot.”
U.S. Circuit Judge Jose Cabranes wrote the unanimous ruling on behalf of the three-member panel.

In this passage, Cabranes describes the stakes of the race for delegates.

The biggest revelation from the Minnesota governor's ongoing press conference so far.
There have been various reports this morning that Anonymous claimed responsibility for attacks on Minnesota websites.

It's unclear whether Walz was alluding to this or what makes him assert the "sophisticated" attacks precludes hacktivists in a basement. yahoo.com/entertainment/…

Local journalists in Minnesota dug through the records, and the initial assertions by officials there—and in Washington—appear to have been wrong.

The available data so far indicate arrests mostly in-state.

It’s important to faithfully report the best available information as it emerges and test the data against official statements.

As the story itself states, what is available now is only a partial picture.
Read the report for the limitations of the data:

* “Small sample” size.

* Incomplete, local records.

* Suspicion from authorities that some people arrested gave phony addresses.

This kind of shoe-leather reporting starts providing a factual basis for the national discussion.
