This week, creators in our community are gathering virtually to celebrate #AsianHeritageMonth. They've passed on some insights about creating to share with you:
(1/4) Due to the disturbing events that transpired yesterday, and given that the election results have now been certified, starting today *any* channels posting new videos with false claims in violation of our policies will now receive a strike. support.google.com/youtube/answer…
(2/4) Over the last month, we’ve removed thousands of videos which spread misinformation claiming widespread voter fraud changed the result of the 2020 election, including several videos President Trump posted to his channel.
(3/4) When we updated our misinformation policy in Dec (blog.youtube/news-and-event…) we communicated that there would be a short grace period, originally ending on Inauguration Day, & new content that broke our rules would be removed without penalty. That grace period has now ended.
There is a proposed new law in Australia called the News Media Bargaining Code. We have answered some questions on how this law could affect creators. Thread ↓ (1/5)
“If I don’t make news content, will this new law affect me?” (2/5)
“Is this just about YouTube not wanting to pay news businesses?” (3/5)

Kia and @rewboss agree: you should plan your shoot with the edit in mind. This can mean planning out what your video will look like and only shooting what you need, or getting multiple takes and plenty of wide shots and close-ups.
The takeaway from @TeriosGaming and Kia: technology is fallible. Back up and save your work as often as possible. You can't guarantee a reshoot, and it's frustrating to lose your hard work just because you forgot to save.
