1/ I'm not sure if I know what to do or say right now.
But to all of my friends & colleagues (students, residents, fellows, & faculty) who are angry, sad, & scared about the racist #GeorgeFloydMurder: I am also angry & sad.
2/ My white skin affords me the privilege of not experiencing the same fear that my black and brown friends & colleagues experience. But I am scared for my friends, and I am scared for our country.
For those who have grown up in a different reality: I see you, and I stand by you
3/ I will do my part to vote, educate myself, speak out when others say or do racist things, and become an upstander rather than a bystander.
Although I cannot understand what you are going through, I am here for you.
This is not okay.

1/ Your team just saw a patient with syphilis, and you're ready to teach, but:
Resident #1: on week 2 of their rotation
👉 Has already seen 2 patients w/ syphilis
Resident #2: started today
👉 Hasn't seen a single patient with syphilis
What should you do now?
2/ Unfortunately, learners on our team may miss teaching that occurs during the rotation for multiple reasons.
3/ As @VarunPhadke2 previously pointed out, all learners on the team are usually not present all day, every day for the entire time we are on clinical services.
