Dental unpopular facts.

[A thread]:
1. Brushing your teeth without flossing leaves 40% of bacteria uncleaned in your mouth.
2. Salt water can be used alternatively to mouth wash.

My curiosity made me create this poll so I can see what people prefer between salt water and mouth rinses and after 100 votes, the majority believes that mouth rinses are MORE EFFECTIVE than salt water.

Well the truth is, they’re EQUALLY ACTIVE.

[A thread]
Both mouth washes and salt water are equally effective (not overlooking their side effects of course) as they serve to kill bacteria in the oral cavity.
SALT WATER is a natural disinfectant that can be used when one has a gum infection, mouth ulcers and even when one has wounds in the oral cavity (in case of an extracted tooth). Because it doesn’t irritate soft oral tissues, it speeds up healing after any dental procedure.

HALITOSIS, commonly known as bad breath, can contribute to a decreased self esteem or significant psychological distress.

It is one of the common reasons as well, as to why people consult with oral health practitioners.

[A THREAD]: Image
Halitosis is an unpleasant odor in exhaled breath, which can either be chronic or temporary and is something that not even good brushing or the use of mouthrinses can fix.
While it is commonly attributed to poor oral hygiene, there are other underlying factors that might contribute to it like dry mouth, the use of tobacco, mouth, nose and throat infections and presence of tonsil stones.

Ever wondered what is the difference between non fluoridated toothpastes that are usually marketed and the ones we regularly buy in stores and if they are safe for use?
Let me give you an insight of the difference between the two and which one is mostly recommended: THREAD🚨🚨
Firstly, one would want to know what is fluoride and what is its relevance to toothpastes.
Fluoride in toothpastes is like vitamins and minerals in food. Fluoridated toothpastes are the only proven way to prevent cavities as it is the main and essential ingredient that plays a key role in the health of your teeth and strengthening them.

Good morning🌼
Wishing everyone a happy Friday and worker’s day.
Today’s thread will only be about questions I usually get on which cleaning aids and products are best to use. NB: The brand I’ve mentioned is just my preference so you can always use other brands.

THREAD🚨🚨
1. SALINE SOLUTION OR MOUTH RINSE?- there’s really no difference between these two as they both serve the same purpose, and that is to kill bacteria. So if you don’t have a mouth rinse, you can always use a simpler alternative- salt+water.
2. THE ‘BEST’ TOOTHPASTE? - any fluoridated toothpaste works perfectly fine. And as I had stated on my last thread, you can use the @Colgate ProGum Health toothpaste if you have gum irritation and inflammation problems..it works wonders.

Another week and another opportunity to learn something new🌼
This week’s topic will be on one the most common oral health problem:

GUM BLEEDING : THREAD🚨🚨
Gum bleeding is known as a common symptom to many underlying oral diseases and below I’m going to mention common factors that might result in bleeding gums.
GINGIVITIS: commonly known as gum inflammation. Most people develop gingivitis when plaque (a naturally occurring debris and bacteria that produces toxins and sticks to your teeth due to the food you eat) stays on the gingival sulcus (gum line) for too long.
